About Nicola
I’m Nicola Herd, a somatic movement educator, therapist, facilitator and bodyworker, with more than 20 years experience working with movement, creativity and the living body.
My work has grown out of a long relationship with dance and movement, including teaching and researching within higher education, and has developed into a wider somatic practice exploring how movement, sensation, imagination, creativity and relationship can open different ways of experiencing ourselves and the world.
I create spaces where people can slow down, listen differently and explore what is happening beyond the thinking mind. Through movement, breath, touch, creative and imaginal enquiry, I accompany people in discovering what may be waiting to be felt, expressed, remembered or reclaimed.
I work with individuals and groups, and facilitate workshops, movement journeys and immersive training for people interested in deepening their relationship with themselves, their creativity and their way of being with others.
My practice is grounded, experiential and curious. I offer structure and guidance while leaving room for something unexpected to emerge; trusting that meaningful change doesn't always begin with knowing what the answer is.

How I Work
I work gently and responsively, meeting each person where they are. Sessions are collaborative and unfold at a pace that supports safety, awareness and meaningful change.
My intention is to help clients feel more at home in their bodies, more able to meet life’s challenges and more connected to their own inner resources.
I believe our bodies hold profound wisdom and that through embodied attention and touch we can access deep healing, vitality, and connection. This is a revival of what many of us have forgotten: that the body is not something to overcome or fix, but something to listen to, honour, and trust.
